A pecuniary legacy is a gift of a specified sum of money.
A residuary legacy is the remainder of your estate once all other bequests have been distributed and debts cleared.
A specific bequest is the gift of a particular item that you want to leave to a charity e.g. paintings, antiques, jewellery.
A contingent bequest is a gift in your will that is dependent on something that may or may not happen, for example that the beneficiaries named in the Will die before the Testator (person who made the Will).
