Tweed Forum River Champion - how to nominate

Do you know someone who has an outstanding commitment to improving the Tweed and its surroundings?  If so, why not nominate them for the Tweed Forum’s 2018 Tweed Forum River Champion Award.  From farmers and foresters to landowners, ghillies and members of the community, there are hundreds of people dedicated to enhancing and protecting the rich natural and cultural heritage of the River Tweed. Our award aims to recognise their efforts and showcase the diversity of ways that people on both sides of the Border are preserving one of our most precious assets.

The Tweed Forum River Champion Award is open to any resident of the Scottish Borders and Northumberland.  Nominees can come from any walk of life and show their dedication through their employment, through volunteering or other personal commitment.  Their championing of the River Tweed should include activity undertaken since 2010.

Nominations for the 2018 Tweed Forum River Champion Award should be made in writing and either emailed to or posted to Tweed Forum River Champion Award, Tweed Forum, South Court, Drygrange Steading, Melrose, TD6 9DJ by the entry deadline of Friday 7th September 2018. They should include the following information:

1. Nominee’s name (with contact telephone number if known).

2. Your name and contact telephone number (in case further information is required)

3. Reason for nomination (in no more than 200 words).

If sending images as part of your nomination, no more than 5 will be accepted.  These should be in jpeg format with a maximum size of 1mb per image.  Photographic prints cannot, unfortunately, be returned.

Nominees may nominate themselves.

Any nominations received after the 7th September closing date will be discarded.

The eventual winner will be chosen by a judging panel.  Nominees and nominators may be contacted by the judging panel for additional information. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into in this regard.

A shortlist of nominees will be announced in October 2018 and the eventual winner announced in November 2018.  Final nominees and the eventual winner will be expected to agree have their names and photographs used for publicity purposes.
