In Development

The Tweed Forum is constantly working with various partners throughout the Tweed catchment to help develop new projects and initiatives. The list below gives some brief details of projects presently under development:

In Dev 01

The creation of a single information source for all wetland relation information in the Tweed catchment will greatly support the recently published Tweed Wetland Strategy (2010).

In Development 02

Haining Loch is an integral part of the Haining Estate and a very popular beauty spot for the nearby community of Selkirk. However, it has both historically, and through to the present day, suffered from poor water quality and accompanying blue-green algal “blooms”.

In Dev 03

It is hoped that restoration of a wetland between the new Duns High School and Duns Park can be combined with improved public access, with a footpath and raised boardwalk being constructed at this site.

Fatlips Castle

Fatlips Castle enjoys a commanding position overlooking the Teviot valley and is one of the most iconic built structures in the region. However, its condition has deteriorated in recent times and this has been exacerbated by vandalism.
