Successful search for Great Crested Newt Larvae

Tweed Forum constructed 20 new ponds in 2007 and 2008 as part of a Scottish Natural Heritage programme to ensure that Great Crested newts had places to live in the central Scottish Borders. Last week we inspected two ponds with Pete Minting of the Amphibian and Reptile Trust UK (who is licenced to look for GCN). We found these little beauties!
